Dem lawmaker: 'Nobody I know' has seen Reid plan
A House Democrat indicated Wednesday that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) might not have party members' votes locked down for his deficit proposal.
"I'M NOT GOING TO COMMIT TO SOMETHING THAT NOBODY I KNOW HAS SEEN AND HAD A CHANCE TO ANALYZE," Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) said. "I want to see it."
Speaker John Boehner's (R-Ohio) deficit proposal was met with division within his party on Monday, resulting in speculation that Boehner's two-step plan does not have enough Republican support to pass the House, much less the Senate, where REID SAID BOEHNER'S PLAN WOULD BE "DEAD ON ARRIVAL."
But Blumenauer said that few Democrats have had a chance to sign onto Reid's alternative measure. "I had dinner with one of my friends who is a senator last night, who was saying they're really interested in seeing the details," he said on CSPAN's "Washington Journal" program. The day after White House press secretary Jay Carney and Fox News reporter Ed Henry tangled over Henry's request for specifics on Obama's plan on debt limit and deficit reduction, Carney and Henry were back at it again on Wednesday.
HENRY ASKED AT THE BRIEFING WHEN OBAMA'S PLAN MIGHT BE SUBMITTED TO THE CONGRESSIONAL BUDGET OFFICE.
"Ed, I understand, we can do this again, OK?" Carney said. "Has the speaker of the House shown you the positions he took in detail in the negotiations that were designed actually to achieve a compromise, as opposed to having a show vote?"

And here is the real tragedy. While both the House and the Senate have a plan, the White House has only “a framework.” As for the comment about the budget, it was defeated in the Senate 97-0. There is no leadership from this administration. None at all.

That last statement sums up what Progressivism is all about. They want to rule the “rabble” in a benevolent way, but democracy is not highly prized. Look at the major argument of the AGW crowd. “The debate is over, we have consensus.” Not only is this a lie, but it is anti-democratic and anti-science.
