Last Debate

AAA third debate
The Checkpoint Scandal

It appears President Obama has two sets of standards in the Middle East; one for Israel and a different one for Muslim states.

Binders full of women—the real scandal

Why has the phrase "binders full of women" captured the progressive imagination more than any other of the hundreds exchanged between Romney and Obama during the second presidential debate?

Reasonable people are scratching their heads: what is so terribly wrong with this seemingly innocuous, if awkward, way to describe Mitt Romney's efforts to find qualified female applicants?
Deep down in the warped labyrinth of the progressive mind, even as they self-righteously deride Mitt Romney's "binder" comment, there's likely to be found a sub-cellar full of imaginary bound women: nude and wrapped in chains; some tied to a bed or a pole, others hanging from rings in the ceiling; crouching in the center of a Middle Eastern slave market or in a Planned Parenthood clinic; all set up to be used, tortured, raped -- or, if the master so desires, saved and cuddled.

When I first heard about it I didn’t have any idea of what the left was talking about.  My three year old granddaughter had learned the song Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.  She thought it was funny to say, “Lucy in the sky with poopee.”  It appears lefties seem to have the same level of intellectual understanding as a three year old.

Argentina vs the USA:  A warning for America

How did a Christian country, with a European population, a negligible racial problem, and enormous natural and agricultural wealth screw up?  How did a country with a liberal constitution cycle in and out of dictatorship?  How did a country that was the fourth-richest per capita on the planet in 1929 fall so hard?  How is it that Argentina regularly cycles between enormous first-world wealth and third-world economic collapse?

The answer, in a word, is government.  Argentina is a frightening example to prove that bad government can destroy even a potential heaven on earth.

A Prediction for tonight’s debate

Any points Romney makes will be characterized by the Obama team as Romney politicizing foreign affairs.

Has the end of Obama already begun?

Mitt Romney enters the final two weeks of the presidential campaign looking very much like the next president of the United States, and it is not merely poll data that creates this impression. President Obama's own campaign has begun to emit clear signals that the incumbent's re-election prospects are dwindling, and anecdotal evidence of strong.

Running on empty

Honk if you have any idea of what Obama’s second term agenda is and how he plans to enact it.  Now honk twice if you heard the MSM badger him about this.  Notice how quiet it is?

Defiance Ohio:  A look at the battle for Ohio

For more than 50 years, the economic fate of this tiny town in northwest Ohio has been inextricably linked to the health of GM, its largest employer.

And so when two local lawyers put up a billboard in the cornfield across from Defiance’s GM plant with a picture of the GM logo above the word “alive” and a photo of Osama bin Laden above the word “dead,” you might have expected nods of approval.

Instead, in this deeply conservative corner of the state not far from the Indiana border, the billboard — and two others posted in town — have proved highly controversial.

For Democrats, this may be the town President Obama helped save with the auto bailout. But, in a twist, Defiance and places like it could end up saving Mitt Romney in all-important Ohio.

Obama’s Plan to eliminate the deficit

“We need to eliminate a whole host of programs that don't work. And I want to go through the federal budget line by line, page by page, programs that don't work, we should cut. Programs that we need, we should make them work better.”

The only problem is that he made this statement in the last debate in 2008.  Now what were those “whole host of programs” President Obama has eliminated?

Christie takes down Barack Obama

He attacks Obama saying he can’t change Washington from the inside.  It’s not his fault you know?  He doesn’t know how to lead.

Always Check the Demographics

President Barack Obama still leads Mitt Romney in Ohio, but the margin has narrowed substantially in the past month, according to a poll released Monday morning by Quinnipiac University and CBS News.
Obama held a 5-point lead among likely voters, winning 50 percent to Romney's 45 percent, according to the poll. In September, Obama held by twice the margin, 53 to 43.

This is designed to make Democrats nervous, but discourage Republicans.  The Demographics on this poll was 35% Democrats, 26% Republicans, and 34% Independents.  But the actual demographics in Ohio are 36% Democrats, 37% Republicans and 27% Independents.  Using these numbers you end up with Obama at 48% and Romney at 52%.

Obama ad charges Romney “not one of us”

Does the Obama campaign want Mitt Romney’s birth certificate?   I guess this isn’t 2004 anymore.

In Search of Excellent—excuses that is

If Mitt Romney wins the presidency, expect the Democrats to complain that the Republicans bought the election — and to try to outlaw it from ever happening again.

The November election

The Middle East:  Obama broke it, now it’s his

With the Middle East now more hostile to U.S. interests than ever, the "Arab Spring" has become a major political liability for the president. Try as he may, he can't distance himself from it.
I know that Obama will try to say Bush had already broken it, but at this point that doesn’t fly anymore.

Is an Obama victory inevitable?

The MSM is pushing this meme, but it’s simply not true.

In the meantime we see Obama with big leads where the Democrats have been oversampled by big amounts.  The Reason-Rupe survey has Obama ahead by 7 points, but oversample the Democrats by 8 points (page 10 of 14).  They lose a point in the final numbers due to more independents liking Romney.

The liberal meme is that more and more polls are showing Obama turning away yet all of these polls heavily oversample Democrats.  2012 is not 2008 where 7 percent more democrats went to the polls.

Reid was lying:  Romney releases tax information

Romney over the past 20 years has averaged paying more in taxes than Obama did this last year.  And he’s given a lot more to charity.

Here’s a breakdown of the taxes paid and charity donation by candidate including the VPs.  It appears the Democrats just aren’t giving their fair share to charity.

And since VP Biden paid a greater percentage than the President did, does that mean Mr. Obama failed to pay his fair share?

If Obama was your financial advisor would you fire him?

Absolutely, yes.  Here’s 10 reasons to fire him from the presidency.

How did Obama pay for this?

A funny ad since Obama uses the past tense meaning he’s saved families $3600 in taxes.  How did he pay for it?  The Democrats always say a tax cut should be paid for, so how did he pay for it?  I think his savings are like the fact that he tells us we are better off than we were four years ago.

Barack M. Obama

The M stands for Mao as we see the cult of personality creep into American politics.

Comparing Obama to Bush

After the 9/11 attack in 2001, Bush got us through 7 more 9/11s without a successful terrorist attack.  Obama came in in 2009 and managed to get us through 3 before the streak was broken with the attack in Benghazi that killed four Americans including a US Ambassador.  Obama isn’t working.

A Fracking Protest

The GlobalFrackdown website and campaign was developed by Food & Water Watch, a Washington, D.C. nonprofit that was once part of Ralph Nader's Public Citizen group. The campaign claims that fracking "has already damaged communities and ruined lives. It pollutes water and makes people sick."

Scientists disagree on the risks of fracking, a process that injects large volumes of water, sand and chemicals underground to break rock apart and free the gas. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and many state regulators, however, say that fracking can be done safely. The American Lung Association says natural gas has helped reduce air pollution as many dirtier coal-fired power plants shift to natural gas.

The immense volumes of natural gas found in formations of shale rock around the country has spurred a boom in natural gas production that has been credited with creating jobs and lowering prices for industry and consumers.

The Frackdown campaign doesn't mention the differing opinions over risks or any benefits of fracking.

Of course they don’t and requiring opponents to announce the other sides points if simply ridiculous.  Fracking is safe and good for the environment.

Green Energy gives Germany Problems

The more a country depends on such sources of energy, the more there will arise – as Germany is discovering – two massive technical problems. One is that it becomes incredibly difficult to maintain a consistent supply of power to the grid, when that wildly fluctuating renewable output has to be balanced by input from conventional power stations. The other is that, to keep that back-up constantly available can require fossil-fuel power plants to run much of the time very inefficiently and expensively (incidentally chucking out so much more “carbon” than normal that it negates any supposed CO2 savings from the wind).

Both these problems have come home to roost in Germany in a big way, because it has gone more aggressively down the renewables route than any other country in the world. Having poured hundreds of billions of euros in subsidies into wind and solar power, making its electricity bills almost the highest in Europe, the picture that Germany presents is, on paper, almost everything the most rabid greenie could want. Last year, its wind turbines already had 29GW of capacity, equivalent to a quarter of Germany’s average electricity demand. But because these turbines are even less efficient than our own, their actual output averaged only 5GW, and most of the rest had to come from grown-up power stations, ready to supply up to 29GW at any time and then switch off as the wind picked up again.

In addition Germany has laws requiring that green energy be used first which make conventional plants unprofitable since they must be on standby and continually gear up and down.  Many are threatening to shut down completely.

Foreign affairs and the election

Same old, same old

This may be the best political ad of the campaign.  It brings home the message, nothing has changed.

And here is a new ad targeting Jewish voters

Direct and to the point

The real scandal: Was State warned before the attack?

The US administration is now facing a crisis in Libya. Sensitive documents have gone missingfrom the consulate in Benghazi and the supposedly secret location of the "safe house" in the city, where the staff had retreated, came under sustained mortar attack. Other such refuges across the country are no longer deemed "safe".

Some of the missing papers from the consulate are said to list names of Libyans who are working with Americans, putting them potentially at risk from extremist groups, while some of the other documents are said to relate to oil contracts.

According to senior diplomatic sources, the US State Department had credible information 48 hours before mobs charged the consulate in Benghazi, and the embassy in Cairo, that American missions may be targeted, but no warnings were given for diplomats to go on high alert and "lockdown", under which movement is severely restricted.

In the meantime the Obama Administration denies it was warned or that the attack on Benghazi was premeditated.

Gaffes on foreign policy?

As the press tries to look the other way and say the Romney committed a gaffe by commenting so quickly on the American Embassy’s twitter condemnation of a movie producer in California, the current White House occupant actually did commit a gaffe.

Kirsten Powers finds media obsession with Romney’s Cairo statement inexplicable

Kirsten sounds like a Republican commentator here.

Obama lied and an ambassador died

And it wasn’t just an ambassador.  Peace and security in the Middle East seems to be gone as well.  The reset button didn’t do a very good job.

Romney was right

Later Wednesday morning, both the president and Secretary of State Clinton made second statements, both tough condemnations of the violence.  But Romney remains right: the administration's first instinct was to express regret for hurting any Muslim feelings, and not to strongly condemn attacks against the United States.

Romney was also correct in his statement to condemn the violence.  President Obama caught up with that 16 hours after the Cairo Embassy posted their twitter condemning the film maker.

Liberals at MSNBC side with the Islamists in Egypt and Libya

It seems if the liberals at MSNBC were in charge free speech could have you end up in jail.
Over at MSNBC, a riot of consensus broke out when contributors Mike Barnicle and Donny Deutsch as well as University of Pennsylvania professor Anthea Butler all agreed that the people behind the video should be indicted as accessories to murder.

Sometimes I suspect hard core liberalism is a mental disease, and other times I know it.

Meanwhile Obama from 2009 in Cairo

It appears Obama’s new beginning has not worked out well.

Obama misses 56.2 percent of his daily briefings

The Government Accountability Institute, a new conservative investigative research organization, examined President Obama's schedule from the day he took office until mid-June 2012, to see how often he attended his Presidential Daily Brief (PDB) -- the meeting at which he is briefed on the most critical intelligence threats to the country. During his first 1,225 days in office, Obama attended his PDB just 536 times -- or 43.8 percent of the time. During 2011 and the first half of 2012, his attendance became even less frequent -- falling to just over 38 percent.

The empty Chair loses in November

The author of this article claim Obama will lose and lose big in November and goes through the list of people who voted for him in 2008 and won’t in 2012.

Morris chimes in on why Obama loses in November

Most interesting was the Gallup Poll he sites which found 54% of voters chose “leave me alone” vs 35% who chose “lend me a hand.”

Rasmussen:  The Bounce for Obama is over

Today’s daily tracking poll has Romney up 48% to 45% for Obama with 5% undecided.  Obama gets 48% of the population at least somewhat approving of his performance while 42% strongly disapprove.  If the undecided break 4-1 the current poll has Romney 52% Obama 46% which is close to what I think it will end up.

The choice in November

It appears President Obama wants to change America and its economic system from what made us the richest country in the world to one that will make us the fairest.

Churchill understood the choice perfectly. He said, “The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings. The inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of misery.”

First Lady asked where they would live is they lose the election?

When asked by a kid where the Obamas wouldlive if President Obama loses, "The First Lady said they could figure that out later," according to the pool report.

That would be plan B.  Oh, that’s right; Obama doesn’t have a plan B.

Chicago Teacher’s Strike Continues over teacher evaluations

The Chicago Teachers Union claims relying on student testing for evaluation of teachers is madness (it’s 20% of the rating).  But isn’t it more like quality assurance?  Aren’t businesses sued when their product fails to do what it is supposed to do?

7 Examples of why voter fraud is a national problem

This article details out 7 examples of voter fraud.  It seemed that after the 2000 election and the problems in Florida both Democrats and Republicans were concerned about voter fraud.  Now the Republicans still are, but the Democrats seem to feel we don’t need to worry any more.
