Obama Ad regarding Romney:  “He’s not one of us”

I remember when Obama was the rising star who told us, “There’s not a black America and white America and Latino America and Asian America; there’s the United States of America.”  How far the mighty has fallen.

Panic on the left?

President Obama can make all the jokes he want about Mitt Romney’s “binders,” but Obama’s the one in the bind.

He’s tossed everything and the kitchen sink at Romney. He’s even thrown in Big Bird. Now he’s calling Mitt “sketchy” — a term women use to describe men who give them the willies.

Mr. Obama has nothing to say about positive either for his record or about Mitt Romney.  Hence we get minutiae.

Obama’s fade has begun

The president of course has his passionate supporters. These are the same people that spent last Tuesday night declaring him the winner of his second meeting with Mitt Romney, and Wednesday and Thursday trying to infuse the word “binder” with game-changing significance.

They are the same people who spent Friday denying that “not optimal” was not a big deal.

“Binder” –big deal. “Not optimal” –no deal at all. That’s the state of the Obama campaign: A nearly Orwellian effort at making some words matter and others disappear while facts are pushed aside It hasn’t worked. It won’t work..

Mitt Romney by contrast followed two very strong debate showings with a wonderful set of remarks at the Al Smith dinner, the third time in two weeks that he has reassured those just tuning into the presidential campaign that he will be a steady and reliable force for good in the Oval Office.

Romney was ready for his close up. This is the primary reason behind his surge.

In the 11 swing states, Mitt Romney earns 50% of the vote to Obama’s 46%.  One percent (1%) likes another candidate in the race, and three percent (3%) are undecided.

How the terms have changed

John Stuart Mill famously spoke of “a party of order and stability, and a party of progress or reform.” Once upon a time, Barack Obama and Joe Biden could claim the mantle of change and progress. But the televised exchanges between Mitt Romney and Obama and Paul Ryan and Biden have revealed that this is no longer the case.

The Republicans are now the ones offering ideas of progress or reform, while the Democrats fiercely fight to protect the established order of entitle-ments, tax hikes, and obeisance to unions, greens, and feminists. Even when Obama and Biden have been highly caffeinated, they have not stated their plans and goals for a second term. They are too busy painting a socialist--realist mural of Romney and Ryan as maniacal reactionaries. They are too preoccupied with protecting subsidies for Big Bird, Planned Parenthood, and windmills.

I think the left still believes they are the party of progress, but they haven’t been that in thirty years.

Who’s to blame:  Democrats take a look

New York Times columnist Gail Collins began her column last week as follows, "When Democrats run into each other on elevators, they exchange glances and sigh. Or make little whimpering sounds." She went on to observe that "Democrats are going bipolar. Democrats spend all their waking hours thinking about the swing states. If Wisconsin starts looking wobbly, their day is ruined." It makes you wonder what their days are going to be like if Obama loses the actual election.

Liberals are angry and frustrated with Obama. He, however, is not the real object of their anger. Someone once observed, "Our strongest anger is reserved for ourselves." (If you doubt that, just ask any golfer.) Liberals are angry and frustrated with themselves because they bought into the fantasy of Barack Obama.

11 things you need to know about Romney’s tax returns

Today GOP Presidential candidate Mitt Romney released his 2011 tax return--The Gov. And Mrs. Romney  have released enough financial data to keep accountants busy till after the election--a complete 2011 tax return as well as their already completed 2010 tax return.  On top of all that, Gov. Romney has released nine financial disclosures since 2002, which are also posted on his site. There are 3 federal Public Financial Disclosures (from 2007, 2011, and 2012), and 6 Massachusetts Statements of Financial Interests (from 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007).

He also posted is a letter from the Romneys' tax preparer, PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, which gives an overview of the Romneys' tax returns covering an additional 20 years, from 1990-2009.

What’s going on with the Polls?

The Democrats want to convince [these anti-Obama voters] falsely that Romney will lose to discourage them from voting. So they lobby the pollsters to weight their surveys to emulate the 2008 Democrat-heavy models. They are lobbying them now to affect early voting. IVR (Interactive Voice Response) polls are heavily weighted. You can weight to whatever result you want. Some polls have included sizable segments of voters who say they are “not enthusiastic” to vote or non voters to dilute Republicans. Major pollsters have samples with Republican affiliation in the 20 to 30 percent range, at such low levels not seen since the 1960s in states like Virginia, Florida, North Carolina and which then place Obama ahead.

Always look at the demographics of any poll before you decide how accurate it is.  I do and generally, BHO is getting 3 to 4 percent less than the lead given them with the skewed percentage of Democrats in the poll.  This means the unaffiliated are voting heavily for Romney and that is what is going to be the difference in this election.  It also means Romney is 4 to 5 percent ahead right now.

Because support for what many today call ‘pro-choice’ laws about abortion necessarily involves willing this departure from legal equality which justice requires, the ‘pro-choice’ position is always gravely wrong.”

Catholics who claim they believe in abortion rights aren’t really Catholics. 

Obama going for a permanent underclass

The Obama redistributionist audio shows Obama talking about building a winning electoral coalition including welfare recipients and the working poor.  Now the left spoke of Mitch McConnell saying the number one goal was to make Obama a one term president as proof the Republicans kept Obama from succeeding.   But if he is looking to make more welfare recipients it appears Obama has succeeded beyond his wildest imagination.  What’s good for Obama is bad for the country. 

Obama has replaced “Change”

I suppose in place of change from the “inside,” he now envisions more “outside” executive orders like the de facto Dream Act, having the EPA shut down more coal plants, stopping more federal energy leases, granting more recess appointments, and extending more executive privilege. 

Do you think he means you have to ignore the Congress and the Constitution?  I’m worried that is exactly what he means.  

Why is Wisconsin in play?

Today, he leads Republican Mitt Romney in state polling. But, based on his Chicago campaign headquarters’ reaction to any questioning that support, his lead may as solid as quicksand.

Elizabeth Warren not licensed to practice law in Massachusetts

As detailed below, there are at least two provisions of Massachusetts law Warren may have violated.  First, on a regular and continuing basis she used her Cambridge office for the practice of law without being licensed in Massachusetts.  Second, in addition to operating an office for the practice of law without being licensed in Massachusetts, Warren actually practiced law in Massachusetts without being licensed.

This could be a problem for her in the next three debates with Scott Brown.  Not an Indian anywhere and not a lawyer in Massachusetts.

There’s a new movie critiquing the public schools system as it exists today which appears to be very powerful and it attracting attention of some very powerful opponents.  In view of the Chicago Teachers strike last week it appears this movie is very timely.

The real scandal: Was State warned before the attack?

The US administration is now facing a crisis in Libya. Sensitive documents have gone missingfrom the consulate in Benghazi and the supposedly secret location of the "safe house" in the city, where the staff had retreated, came under sustained mortar attack. Other such refuges across the country are no longer deemed "safe".

Some of the missing papers from the consulate are said to list names of Libyans who are working with Americans, putting them potentially at risk from extremist groups, while some of the other documents are said to relate to oil contracts.

According to senior diplomatic sources, the US State Department had credible information 48 hours before mobs charged the consulate in Benghazi, and the embassy in Cairo, that American missions may be targeted, but no warnings were given for diplomats to go on high alert and "lockdown", under which movement is severely restricted.

In the meantime the Obama Administration denies it was warned or that the attack on Benghazi was premeditated. 

Gaffes on foreign policy?

As the press tries to look the other way and say the Romney committed a gaffe by commenting so quickly on the American Embassy’s twitter condemnation of a movie producer in California, the current White House occupant actually did commit a gaffe.

Obama lied and an ambassador died

And it wasn’t just an ambassador.  Peace and security in the Middle East seems to be gone as well.  The reset button didn’t do a very good job.

 

Romney was right

Later Wednesday morning, both the president and Secretary of State Clinton made second statements, both tough condemnations of the violence.  But Romney remains right: the administration's first instinct was to express regret for hurting any Muslim feelings, and not to strongly condemn attacks against the United States.

Romney was also correct in his statement to condemn the violence.  President Obama caught up with that 16 hours after the Cairo Embassy posted their twitter condemning the film maker.  

Liberals at MSNBC side with the Islamists in Egypt and Libya

It seems if the liberals at MSNBC were in charge free speech could have you end up in jail. 

Over at MSNBC, a riot of consensus broke out when contributors Mike Barnicle and Donny Deutsch as well as University of Pennsylvania professor Anthea Butler all agreed that the people behind the video should be indicted as accessories to murder.

Sometimes I suspect hard core liberalism is a mental disease, and other times I know it.

The Government Accountability Institute, a new conservative investigative research organization, examined President Obama's schedule from the day he took office until mid-June 2012, to see how often he attended his Presidential Daily Brief (PDB) -- the meeting at which he is briefed on the most critical intelligence threats to the country. During his first 1,225 days in office, Obama attended his PDB just 536 times -- or 43.8 percent of the time. During 2011 and the first half of 2012, his attendance became even less frequent -- falling to just over 38 percent.

Most interesting was the Gallup Poll he sites which found 54% of voters chose “leave me alone” vs 35% who chose “lend me a hand.”  

Rasmussen:  The Bounce for Obama is over

Today’s daily tracking poll has Romney up 48% to 45% for Obama with 5% undecided.  Obama gets 48% of the population at least somewhat approving of his performance while 42% strongly disapprove.  If the undecided break 4-1 the current poll has Romney 52% Obama 46% which is close to what I think it will end up.  

The choice in November

It appears President Obama wants to change America and its economic system from what made us the richest country in the world to one that will make us the fairest.  

Churchill understood the choice perfectly. He said, “The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings. The inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of misery.”

First Lady asked where they would live is they lose the election?

When asked by a kid where the Obamas wouldlive if President Obama loses, "The First Lady said they could figure that out later," according to the pool report.

That would be plan B.  Oh, that’s right; Obama doesn’t have a plan B.
