Obama starts another war--against women

What’s new Today

Story #1 deals with the attempt by the Democrats to change the subject and talk about social issues.  #2 and #3 have to do with lies.  The first points out the lies in the Obama movie, The Road we’ve Traveled.”  The next one focuses on lies from Obamacare.  #4 is another look at the “War on Women.”  #5 is all about the voter ID controversy (again another attempt at distracting the public).  #6 is an update on Ms. Fluke.

1.  Do The Democrats And The MSM Think All Women Are Stupid?

According to Rochelle Riley at the Detroit News, Rush Limbaugh is the 21st Century foolish bigot.

In her article by that headline she basically calls Limbaugh a terrorist and says, "The danger is clear: As Limbaugh and others continue to push hate, we are turning the rift between Americans into a fault line. And all Americans will be hurt by it."

I read her entire article checking to see if she named any other remarks by misogynists like Bill Maher, Ed Schultz, or Imus.

Alas no. Ms. Riley is just part of the media blitz to push the economic crisis aside and replace it with the issue of birth control.

We women are supposed to fall for this tactic and according to some polls; many of us will do so.

I don't agree with the words Rush Limbaugh used to denigrate the Georgetown coed, Sandra Fluke, - although I did at first.

Then I actually read the transcript of Ms. Fluke's testimony before Congress and while it was typical liberal tripe demanding government entitlement for all, she did not mention anything about her personal sex life so she should not have been linked with sluts and prostitutes.

Rush made an error in judgment for which he has apologized - but the liberals have seized upon his gaffe as a way to demonize all who have objections to government funding of contraceptives as enemies of women.

Perennial feminist gadfly Gloria Allred is pushing for an investigation to have Limbaugh arrested…

What is ironic is the left’s extremism when it comes to these things is never mentioned.  We have a First Amendment guaranteeing freedom of speech, but Gloria Allred is pushing to have Limbaugh ARRESTED!  This demonstrates what these folks would do if they didn’t have the courts and the Constitution keeping them from doing what they want and demonstrates that the issue isn’t Rick Santorum’s views on birth control that is the mortal danger to Americans, but the left’s intentions of how they want to rule.

2.   The Road We’ve Traveled

…Where to begin? Perhaps with the last statement: Mr. Obama has spent three years wallowing in blame. His culprits have ranged from his predecessor, to tsunamis and earthquakes, to ATMs, to Fox News, to yours truly. If you Google "Obama, Blame, Bush" and "Obama, Inherited," you'll get tens of millions of hits.

As for inheriting the worst economy since the Great Depression: Perhaps Mr. Obama has forgotten the Carter presidency, which featured double-digit inflation, double-digit interest rates, and high unemployment.

The film is riddled with other inaccuracies and misleading claims. For example, the United Auto Workers may not have gotten "money" in the bailout, but as an unsecured creditor, the union received a 17.5% ownership interest in General Motors and 55% of Chrysler, while the companies' bondholders got hosed.

The film asserts that the auto companies "repaid their loans." But they still owe taxpayers $26.5 billion, and the Treasury Department's latest report to Congress noted that nearly $24 billion of the bailout money is gone forever….

If you want to see what the film forget to mention, read the rest of the article.

3.  Lies my government told me

…In a 2010 column titled “Obamacare’s unkeepable promises,” I compiled the top Obamacare lies that the president and other Democrats deployed. As I’ve said before, we did not get here because of simple distortions or exaggerations or even misrepresentations. Obamacare is the product of statements known by their makers to be untrue and meant to deceive - lies. Two years after the president signed his health care takeover into law, the enormity of those lies continues to grow.

“No matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise to the American people. If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what.”

Mr. Obama made this empty promise before the American Medical Association in June 2009, and the few remaining doctors still willing to associate with the AMA - only about 17 percent - believed it. America didn’t. Neither did the CBO whose most recent analysis reveals that up to 20 million Americans could lose their employer-based health insurance as a direct result of Obamacare. As an aside, if your own doctor is still a member of the AMA, you might want to find a smarter doctor.

“I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes.”

Candidate Obama made this empty promise in 2008. Then he unleashed Obamacare, which raises taxes on everything from tampons to tanning salons, from MRI scanners to Q-tips. If your doctor uses it to serve you, its price tag just went up, and so did your bill. Moreover, taxes are going up on health insurance itself, if you dare to purchase a plan more comprehensive than your government thinks you need, a “Cadillac” plan. Obamacare contains no fewer than 20 new or increased taxes.

“We will bring down premiums by $2,500 for the typical family.”

Candidate Obama made this empty promise in 2008. According to Kaiser Health News, the average family’s health care premium is up $1,300 and 6 in 10 Americans will see their health insurance premiums rise. One single Obamacare provision alone - the mandate to include “children” to age 26 on their parents’ plan - accounts for 20 percent of the increase.

Obamacare will cost “around $900 billion over 10 years.”…

And it isn’t just the lies they told us, but the Unconstitutional methods of implementation are more than a little bit of a concern.  The mandate has been joined with the requirement for religious organization to provide sterilizations and morning after coverage with no co-pay even if it violates their religious beliefs.

4.  The War on Women

Ann Marie Buerkle is a mother and grandmother, a registered nurse, a lawyer, and a freshman member of Congress...

…”And that is why it was so tragic and inexplicable that earlier this year — when we should have been working together on those very important issues. The Obama administration chose instead to pick a fight with people of faith — no, not just people of faith — a fight with everyone who believes that our Constitution protects their rights of conscience.

You have probably heard or read a great deal about the Health and Human Services mandate already — one of the many regulations that are being imposed as part of the president’s healthcare plan….

This regulation — this mandate — undoes in the stroke of a pen — a 220-year history of conscience rights protection in America.

…The stated purpose of this mandate is to provide, among other services, free abortion-inducing drugs and birth control pills. Now, even if you believed that providing these things for free is a good public policy — the Obama administration could have proposed many different ways to accomplish this. But they didn’t. They deliberately chose to try and gain political advantage by forcing a choice onto religious organizations — violate your faith — or you will be fined...

…they will either have to reduce services to the poor and needy — or stop providing these services completely. I’ve spoken to people in my district and these are the choices they face.

We are talking about essential services — healthcare, educating our children, running soup kitchens, shelters for women, aide to the homeless, prison ministries — all of the critical works of mercy that are part and parcel of their faith. The Obama administration’s politics of divide and conquer will result in diminished services to those who need it most: the poor and needy. This is a travesty”….

This is a travesty that the Democrats are trying to use to deflect attention away from the economy.  It won’t work.

5.  Voter ID Laws

…In 2008, the Supreme Court held in Crawford v. Marion County Election Board that Indiana's voter-ID law is constitutional. The Court noted that the challengers could not produce a single voter disenfranchised by that law. Now thirty-two states have voter-ID laws to protect their electoral process.

Nonetheless, when southern states have passed these laws, Attorney General Eric Holder has invoked Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act to block these measures as having the effect of disparately impacting racial minorities. Mr. Holder has blocked laws in Texas and South Carolina, and litigation is now underway.

Section 5 specifies that certain southern states that suppressed minority voting half a century ago must obtain preclearance from the Justice Department or the federal district court in Washington, D.C., before changing their voting laws. Even the liberal Warren Court upheld Section 5 in the 1966 case South Carolina v. Katzenbach only because endemic racial hostility at that time justified extraordinary federal power under the Fifteenth Amendment, and indicated that if American society progressed, such continued federal supervision over this quintessential state function would no longer be constitutional.

Today an African-American can be elected president of the United States, or serve in top Cabinet posts, congressional leadership, or the Supreme Court. So in 2009 the Supreme Court signaled that it was ready to reconsider Section 5's validity. A case currently before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, Shelby County v. Holder, may provide that opportunity next year…

http://townhall.com/columnists/kenblackwell/2012/03/22/voterid_laws_protect_the_integrity_of_the_ballot_box/page/1

This Justice Department is one of the most lawless ones we’ve ever had.  November can’t come soon enough to stop this rogue group.

6.  Sandra Fluke Says She Didn't Know Target Sells Birth Control Pills for $9

Thirty-year-old Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke, who told a House Steering and Policy Committee hearing convened by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi last month that contraception can cost a student $3,000 during law school, told CNSNews.com on Tuesday that she did not know that the Target store 3 miles from the Georgetown Law campus sells a month's supply of birth control pills for just $9.

Target advertises the $9-per-month birth control pills on its website, and CNSNews.com confirmed and reconfirmed that the $9 pills were in fact available at the Target near Georgetown Law.

“Without insurance coverage, contraception can cost a woman over $3,000 during law school," Fluke testified before Pelosi's panel….

… Fluke said: “So, I’m not familiar with specific department store policies. I know that some generic forms of contraception are less expensive than others and that that has been widely reported. But what has not been widely reported is that many women cannot use those forms of contraception.”…

http://cnsnews.com/news/article/sandra-fluke-says-she-didnt-know-target-sells-birth-control-pills-9

This whole story reminds me of the old joke of a bum who is panhandling for money.  He asks a passerby for $10 for a cup of coffee.  The man says, “You can get coffee in Starbucks for half that amount.”  The bum replies, “I’m a big tipper.”  I guess she feels she doesn’t have time to find the best deal so her solution is for the taxpayers to pick up 100% of the cost.

More people abandon the Democrats

What’s new Today

Our #1 story is bad news for the Democrats.   More and more people are affiliated with the Republicans and fewer are affiliated with the Democrats.  It’s in line with the current Gallup polls that say Obama has an approval rating of approximately 42%.  #2 talks about how the Democrats are reinventing history.  In other words, reality is not what they claim it is.  #3 is great news.  New technology is opening up more and more oil.  Experts are saying that we will soon be an energy exporting nation.  #4 Dave Berry takes a look at 2011.  #5 runs against everything the left thinks finding that Gorden Gecko was right, “Greed is good.”  Well at least is works better than what Obama is giving us.

1.  Rasmussen: Republicans gain and Democrats Lose in Party Affiliation

The number of Republicans in the country increased by a percentage point in December, while the number of Democrats fell back two points to the lowest level ever recorded by Rasmussen Reports.

During December, 35.4% of Americans considered themselves Republicans. That’s up from 34.3%   in November and just below the high for the year of 35.6% reached in May.

At the same time, just 32.7% of adults said they were Democrats, down from 34.9% in November. The previous low for Democrats was 33.0% in August of this year. .

The number of voters not affiliated with either of the major political parties rose to 32.0% in December from 30.8% the month before.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/mood_of_america/partisan_trends

More bad news if you are a Democrat. Looking at the numbers and using Gallup’s support by categories, Obama’s support works out to 41.6%.  At the same time in Reagan’s presidency his approval was 51.4%.

2.  Obama’s strategy:  Lie

But to really enter the Twilight Zone, consider these two priceless sentences from the Times story: “Winning a full-year extension of the payroll tax, Mr. Earnest said, will still be a top priority. He noted that House Republicans were now also arguing that it should be extended for a year, after some initially opposed extending it at all.”

Come again? On December 13, the GOP House passed a full-year extension of the payroll tax cut – and was promptly criticized by – you guessed it — the president. Obama favored a much shorter, two-month extension. House Republicans, under intense political pressure, eventually agreed to the two-month extension. Now the White House is declaring a full-year extension is a “top priority.” Yet as recently as three weeks ago the opposition to the president’s “top priority” came not from House Republicans but from Obama himself.

We are now reaching the point in which the president is running a truly post-modern campaign, in which there is no objective truth but simply narrative. Obama’s campaign isn’t simply distorting the facts; it is inverting them. This kind of thing isn’t unusual to find in the academy. But to see a president and his campaign so thoroughly deconstruct truth in order to maintain power is quite rare. The sheer audacity of Obama’s cynicism is a wonder of the modern world.

http://www.commentarymagazine.com/2012/01/02/obama-re-election-congress/

In the movie A Few Good Men, Jack Nickolson has the line when asked by Tom Cruise for the truth.  Nickolson’s character says, “You can’t handle the truth.”  That appears what is going on with BHO in his reelection campaign.  They can’t handle the truth so they don’t plan to use it in the campaign.

3.   America’s Future:  Oil exports

A rush of recent reports indicates that the explosion of non-conventional fossil fuel production continues to transform the world. (Non-conventional fossil fuel production is the production of oil and natural gas by hydraulic fracking and horizontal drilling.) In fact, 2011 will mark a major turning point in energy production worldwide -- one with profound geopolitical consequences.

The first report is that Anadarko Petroleum has just raised its estimate for its Colorado Wattenberg field holdings. Anadarko estimates that the field will yield more than one billion barrels of oil and national gas. This would place it right up there with the now-legendary Bakken shale field (in North Dakota) and the Eagle Ford formation (in Texas).

The second story is that North Dakota hit a record high oil production in October of 488,000 barrels per day (bpd). This was up 100,000 bpd (or 25%) from June's production. Lynn Helms, director of the North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources, projects that the state's total oil production will exceed 500,000 bpd next year and 900,000 bpd the year after that. The state will soon surpass California (539,000 bpd) and Alaska (550,000 bpd), rivaling top-producing Texas (1.2 million bpd).

Another story reinforces these bracing estimates. The National Petroleum Council estimates that by 2035 -- if the regulators will just stop endlessly excreting new hurdles -- the U.S. will hit 3 million bpd of shale oil alone. There are about 14 to 16 new American shale oil fields just starting to be exploited.

This has led the federal Energy Information Administration to raise its estimates for total American liquid fuel output by nearly 40% -- for next year alone!...

…. For decades, the environmentalist fanatics have repeated the Malthusian myth that we are running out of fossil fuels. But the whole Thanatos-worshiping pagan enviro-religion is now facing its Copernican challenge.

http://www.americanthinker.com/2012/01/unlimited_domestic_energyright_now.html#ixzz1iOcLlRg9

This is revolutionary.  An oil boom like this will bring prosperity to America, raise the value of the dollar, while making our industry much more competitive.  The so-called “green energy” boom which was supposed to create 5 million jobs is nothing but an illusion, but this is reality.

4.  Dave Berry looks back at 2011

It was the kind of year that made a person look back fondly on the gulf oil spill.

Granted, the oil spill was bad. But it did not result in a high-decibel, weeks-long national conversation about a bulge in a congressman’s underpants.  Which is exactly what we had in the Festival of Sleaze that was 2011. Remember? There were days when you could not escape The Bulge.  At dinnertime, parents of young children had to be constantly ready to hurl themselves in front of their TV screens, for fear that it would suddenly appear on the news in high definition. For a brief (Har!) period, The Bulge was more famous than Justin Bieber.

And when, at last, we were done with The Bulge, and we were able to turn our attention to the presidential election, and the important issues facing us, as a nation, in these troubled times, it turned out that the main issue, to judge by quantity of press coverage, was: groping.

So finally, repelled by the drainage ditch that our political system has become, we turned for escape to an institution that represents all that is pure and wholesome and decent in America today: college football.

That was when we started to have fond memories of the oil spill...

How can you not enjoy Berry?  This is from the first page of a five page article.

5.  Greed is Good

…In a free-market system, in order for one to get more for himself, he must serve his fellow man. This is precisely what Adam Smith, the father of economics, meant when he said in "An Inquiry Into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations" (1776):

"It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker, that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest…."

…Free-market capitalism is relatively new in human history. Before the rise of capitalism, the way people amassed great wealth was by looting, plundering and enslaving their fellow man.

Capitalism made it possible to become wealthy by serving one's fellow man. Capitalists seek to discover what people want and then produce it as efficiently as possible.

Free-market capitalism is ruthless in its profit and loss discipline. This explains much of the hostility toward free-market capitalism; some of it is held by businessmen….

…Free-market capitalism has other enemies -- mostly among the intellectual elite and political tyrants. These are people who believe that they have superior wisdom to the masses and that God has ordained them to forcibly impose that wisdom on the rest of us.

Of course, they have what they consider to be good reasons for restricting liberty, but every tyrant who has ever lived has had what he considered good reason for restricting liberty.

A tyrant's agenda calls for the attenuation or the elimination of the market and what is implied by it -- voluntary exchange. Tyrants do not trust that people acting voluntarily will do what the tyrant thinks they should do. They want to replace the market with economic planning and regulation….

http://washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/columnists/2012/01/heres-why-i-love-greed-and-so-should-you/2054186#ixzz1iQWgh8Zt

The last paragraph I copied explains my distrust of government and the regulations that come forth from Washington.  The people in government are not saints.

All things Obama

Obama seeks to dump GM

…A sale within the next several months would almost certainly mean U.S. TAXPAYERS WILL TAKE A LOSS ON THEIR $50 BILLION RESCUE OF THE DETROIT AUTO MAKER IN 2009.

To break even, the U.S. Treasury would need to sell its remaining stake—about 500 million shares—at $53 apiece. GM closed off 27 cents a share at $29.97 in 4 p.m. trading Monday on the New York Stock Exchange, HITTING A NEW LOW SINCE ITS $33-A-SHARE NOVEMBER INITIAL PUBLIC OFFERING….

….Shares have been hurt by rising fuel prices, industry production disruptions and management turnover. At Monday's price, and taking into account shares sold during the IPO, TAXPAYERS WOULD LOSE MORE THAN $11 BILLION ON THE RESCUE IF THE GOVERNMENT DUMPED THE REST OF ITS STAKE NOW.

Government officials are willing to take the loss because the Obama administration would like to sever its last ties to the auto maker, the people familiar with the matter said. A summer sale makes it more likely Treasury could sell all of its stake in GM by year's end, AVOIDING A POTENTIALLY CONTROVERSIAL SALE IN THE 2012 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION YEAR…

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703916004576271382418887092.html?mod=e2tw#

See, raising a billion dollars for his campaign is nothing when he can get the taxpayers to pitch in 11 billion to remove just one embarrassment of his.

Obama and Medicare

Piously posturing as the savior of Medicare, President Obama lashed out at the House Republicans for embracing the budget proposed by Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.). But a comparison of the president’s own plans for Medicare with those in the Ryan budget shows that THE DEMOCRATIC CUTS ARE FAR MORE IMMEDIATE AND DRASTIC THAN ANYTHING IN THE GOP PROPOSAL.

WHILE THE REPUBLICAN MEDICARE CHANGES ONLY TAKE EFFECT IN 2021, OBAMA’S CUTS WILL BEGIN HURTING SENIORS RIGHT AWAY. The president’s healthcare legislation imposed a hard spending cap on Medicare
— the first time it has ever had one — which he has just proposed lowering by another one-half of 1 percent of GDP (a further cut of about $70 billion a year).

Obama’s cuts, which will take effect immediately, are to be administered by his newly created Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) of 15 members appointed by the president. ITS RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CUTS IN MEDICARE SERVICES OR FOR REDUCTIONS IN REIMBURSEMENT WILL NOT BE SUBJECT TO CONGRESSIONAL APPROVAL BUT WILL TAKE EFFECT BY ADMINISTRATIVE FIAT. RIGHT NOW.

http://thehill.com/opinion/columnists/dick-morris/156879-obamas-medicare-hypocrisy

Sarah Palin was right. Remember this when the left talks about how the Republicans are destroying Medicare.

Why Obama is so far behind the times

Ruth Marcus of the Washington Post and others have noted that President Obama seems a few beats behind things; unable to anticipate things as they develop, and awkward when forced to catch up. WHEN HE RESPONDS, HIS ANSWERS SEEM LACKING.

Good politicians are in tune with their times, great ones foresee them, but OBAMA SEEMS OUT OF STEP WITH HIS TIMES, AND BEHIND THEM.

He is in the right job (he thinks), at the wrong moment, handed a crisis he never expected, and is doing his best to ignore. HE WAS TOLD, AND BELIEVED, HE WAS THE NEW FDR AT THE START OF A NEW AGE OF EXPANSION, AND IT WOULD BE HIS JOB TO REDEEM THE OLD LIBERAL VISION.

How could he know that a few months into his term the welfare state would implode both at home and in Europe, and that, INSTEAD OF RESTORING THE LIBERAL CREED TO DEPRESSION-AGE GLORY, HE WOULD PRESIDE OVER ITS FINAL DEMISE?

Two years ago, Time had him on its cover as FDR redux, and Newsweek was saying that we were all socialists now. Soon after that, the real socialists threw in the towel in Europe, admitting their system had not been successful, urging retrenchment and large cuts in government spending.

OBAMA'S RESPONSE WAS TO SPEND STILL MORE MONEY, TOUT SPEED RAIL AND WINDMILLS, AND TREAT WARNINGS AT HOME AND ABROAD OF A DEBT-FUELED DISASTER AS PART OF A PLOY BY THE RIGHT IN ITS DRIVE TO STARVE CHILDREN

http://washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/columnists/2011/04/why-obama-so-far-behind-times#ixzz1K3jesIe9

This is a sad commentary on Obama and the state of the Left in this country. They actually feel if you aren’t with them, you are un American.

Obama in and on Texas

Apparently Obama did not appreciate the tone of this reporter from Texas, who asked Obama some pointed questions and at one point corrected him on how badly he lost the Lone Star state in 2008. OBAMA TESTILY CONCLUDES "LET ME FINISH MY ANSWERS" AT THE END OF THE INTERVIEW:

In case Obama needs a better refresher, the National Republican Senatorial Committee gleefully sent out the following email:

Good morning – as you continue to hear national DEMOCRAT CAMPAIGN STRATEGISTS PONTIFICATE ON HOW THEY INTEND TO TARGET TEXAS IN NEXT YEAR’S ELECTION, I wanted to point out that in an interview last night, WFAA-TV reporter Brad Watson had to remind even President Obama that HE ACTUALLY LOST TEXAS BY 11 POINTS IN 2008 – AT THE HEIGHT OF HIS POPULARITY -- AND NOT BY “A FEW PERCENTAGE POINTS” AS THE PRESIDENT INITIALLY CLAIMED.

http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/case-obama-has-forgotten-he-lost-texas-117-points_557578.html

Obama, the Democrats and the left in general are more and more out of touch with reality.

Obama: The Bully-in-Chief

…To grasp the magnitude of this spectacle, it is important to understand the context. At the start of the year, the President spoke directly to Republican House leaders at their annual retreat. There, he took on a tone reminiscent of his hope-n-change, post-partisan healer routine from the 2008 campaign trail, urging, "I DON'T THINK [THE AMERICAN PEOPLE] WANT MORE PARTISANSHIP... THEY DIDN'T SEND US TO WASHINGTON TO FIGHT EACH OTHER IN SOME SORT OF POLITICAL STEEL CAGE MATCH TO SEE WHO COMES OUT ALIVE... THEY SENT US TO WASHINGTON TO WORK TOGETHER, TO GET THINGS DONE."

In such an environment of cooperation and collaboration, PRESIDENT OBAMA INVITED CONGRESSMAN PAUL RYAN -- the architect of the recent Republican budget plan -- TO SIT IN THE FRONT ROW, JUST INCHES FROM THE PRESIDENTIAL LECTERN AT HIS RECENT BUDGET ADDRESS. It would be fair to assume that Ryan believed this to be a sign of goodwill. Though the President was sure to disagree with portions of his plan, Ryan probably felt he was in for a bipartisan pat on the back and an expression of appreciation for tackling this monumental challenge. Why else would the President save him such a seat of prominence?

How about so the Playground Bully-in-Chief could ambush Ryan and make an example of him in front of the country? FOR THE BETTER PART OF AN HOUR, THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES LAMBASTED RYAN'S EFFORTS PUBLICLY AS LITTLE SHORT OF ABANDONING AUTISTIC KIDS TO THE SEWERS AND LOCKING GRANNY IN THE ATTIC.

Given this undignified blindside, Rep. Ryan would have been well within his rights to walk out of the hall in disgust. But apparently, decorum and respect are words that find meaning in the Ryan vocabulary -- more than can be said for our Chief Executive. After all, THIS RECENT MANIFESTATION OF HIS BRAZEN CHILDISHNESS IS BUT ONE THREAD IN A MUCH LARGER TAPESTRY OF IMMATURITY THAT HAS EMERGED
http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/04/the_presidents_maturity_proble.html

Like a bully, Obama likes to pick times his opponents can’t fight back. Ryan above and SCOTUS at last fiscal year’s SOTU.

Obama lies again

President Barack Obama claimed that coal could create "the kinds of air pollution" THAT IS "CREATING ASTHMA FOR KIDS," in speaking at a town hall event in Annandale, Va., on Tuesday. However, the NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH SAYS THAT “THE EXACT CAUSE OF ASTHMA ISN’T KNOWN” AND THAT “ASTHMA IS DIFFERENT FOR EACH PERSON.”
http://cnsnews.com/news/article/obama-claims-air-pollution-coal-creating

I’m sure NBC/CBS/ and ABC will lead with the story that Obama was lying in his Annandale speech.

Even Arianna doesn’t trust BHO

….Perhaps it's because we feel like we've seen this movie before. CALL IT "ATTACK OF THE IMPASSIONED YET EMPTY RHETORIC." But this version was even more unsettling than the earlier versions, in which the president delivered great speeches then failed to back up his words with the promised action. IN THIS SEQUEL, HIS WORDS TURNED TO BROKEN PROMISES AS SOON AS THEY PASSED HIS LIPS.

IT'S ALMOST AS IF THE SPEECH WAS PREMISED ON THE HOPE THAT MOST OF HIS AUDIENCE HADN'T BEEN KEEPING UP WITH THE NEWS. "They want to give people like me a $200,000 tax cut that's paid for by asking 33 seniors each to pay $6,000 more in health costs? That's not right. And it's not going to happen as long as I'm president," he said, drawing rhetorical lines in the sand. The problem is, he had already welcomed Republicans across these lines and enjoyed a few celebratory toasts with them on the other side.

We got used to the president making strong promises and then caving -- from closing Guantanamo to not extending the Bush tax cuts for millionaires. Now he's making strong promises he's already broken. HE'S LIKE A POLITICAL VERSION OF THE GUY PEARCE CHARACTER IN MEMENTO -- HE'S FIGURED OUT A WAY TO BREAK PROMISES OUTSIDE OF THE LIMITATIONS OF LINEAR TIME….

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/arianna-huffington/obama-economy-speech_b_851311.html

2012 is looking good if you are a Republican, not so much if you are a Democrat.

Obama: Sense and Nonsense

President Obama said sensible things in his speech about deficits. "Most Americans tend to dislike government spending in the abstract, but they like the stuff it buys," he noted. True. "NOBODY WANTS TO PAY HIGHER TAXES." TRUE. "AROUND TWO-THIRDS OF OUR BUDGET IS SPENT ON MEDICARE, MEDICAID, SOCIAL SECURITY, AND NATIONAL SECURITY." ALSO TRUE. Therefore, cuts to discretionary programs alone "won't solve the problem." True again.

Alas, THAT WAS ABOUT THE EXTENT OF THE PRESIDENT'S TRUTHFULNESS. The rest of his speech WAS WASTED SETTING UP STRAW MEN AND KNOCKING THEM DOWN with bombastic nonsense about who wants Americans to be prosperous and happy (him) and who wants them to die cold and hungry (anyone who disagrees with him). As for specifics, he offered none.

THE ONLY WAY TO SHOW CARE FOR OTHERS, OBAMA SUGGESTED, WAS BY SPENDING ON GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS. Blame for high deficits, he insisted, falls exclusively on inadequate taxation. Nowhere did he mention that FEDERAL SPENDING HAS SKYROCKETED IN THE PAST THREE YEARS, FROM $2.9 TRILLION IN 2008 TO $3.8 TRILLION TODAY.

Obama support falls with just about everyone

….According to this McClatchy-Marist Poll, 61% OF REGISTERED VOTERS NATIONALLY DISAPPROVE OF HOW THE PRESIDENT IS HANDLING THE FEDERAL BUDGET DEFICIT. 34% approve, and only 5% are unsure.
Republicans are the most dissatisfied with how Mr. Obama is tackling the deficit. Most GOP voters — 91% — disapprove of his approach while just 5% approve. AMONG INDEPENDENT VOTERS, MORE THAN TWO-THIRDS — 68% — ARE UNHAPPY WITH HOW THE PRESIDENT IS ADDRESSING THE ISSUE COMPARED WITH 28% WHO APPROVE. And, while 64% of the president’s own party approve of how Mr. Obama is dealing with the deficit, a significant 30% of Democrats would prefer he take on the issue in a different way.

President Obama laid out his plan to deal with the budget deficit last Wednesday. And, while there was a slight bounce in those who approve of how the president is handling the federal deficit after his speech, voters remain pessimistic. Prior to the president’s address at George Washington University, 31% approved of how he is dealing with the deficit compared with 38% who report the same after he outlined his plan.

When it comes to Mr. Obama’s overall job performance, voters remain tepid. Currently, 44% OF REGISTERED VOTERS APPROVE OF HOW THE PRESIDENT IS DOING IN OFFICE COMPARED WITH 49% WHO DISAPPROVE. Six percent are unsure.

http://maristpoll.marist.edu/419-high-dissatisfaction-with-washington/

What should concern the left is that these polls are among registered vs likely voters. Democrats traditionally do much better with all registered voters than they do in actual elections with actual voters.

Obama Has No Budget Plan

He has a campaign agenda.

Even by the very low standards of Washington politics, President Obama’s budget speech last week was a model of disingenuousness. In fact, to treat the president’s speech as a budget proposal is probably unfair. It wasn’t really a budget plan; it was a campaign speech — long on vitriol, platitudes, and promises, but short on detail. Even so, it’s worth pointing out some of the bigger inaccuracies….

Here’s a summary of Obama inaccuracies:

OBAMA JUST WANTS TO TAX “MILLIONAIRES AND BILLIONAIRES.” His definition of a millionaire includes people making under a million dollars down as far as $200,000 per year.

OBAMACARE SAVES MONEY. Obamacare ginned the numbers and then spent the savings twice. He also doesn’t address the long term Medicare deficit of $45 trillion.

OBAMA WOULD CUT DOMESTIC SPENDING. This is probably the most dishonest part of the speech. Obama says he will cut $750 billion over 12 years. INCLUDED IN THESE SAVINGS ARE SAVINGS ON DEBT SERVICE AND “REDUCED SPENDING THROUGH THE TAX CODE.” IN OTHER WORDS, HE COUNTS TAX HIKES AS SPENDING CUTS (ie. Cutting out the homeowners tax deduction would raise revenue, but Obama counts that as a spending cut.

OBAMA’S PLAN BALANCES THE BUDGET. Actually none of the plans we are talking about balances the budget, but Ryan’s plan is 89% better toward that goal that Obama’s.

You would have to be a fool to believe this president.

The left gets desperate

Look and see where the money is
Why taxing the rich won’t solve the debt problem

The problem with rich people (or, more properly high income earners) is that there aren't enough of them. Upper-income taxpayers are already paying around double their fair (pro rata) share of federal income taxes on the average, and there simply aren't enough dollars at the high end to pay for the Democrats' spending spree, even if the Dems try to steal them all. THE ONLY WAY TO BALANCE THE BUDGET THROUGH TAX INCREASES IS BY GOING WHERE MOST OF THE MONEY IS--THE $50,000 TO $500,000 ADJUSTED GROSS INCOME RANGE.

http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2011/04/028846.php

Of course Obama and the Democrats know this, but won’t admit it when it comes to telling the American people what they are really planning to do.

More Politicalization at the Holder DOJ

….Last Thursday I reported on an interview I conducted with a top DOJ official who said that THE PENDING INDICTMENTS OF SEVERAL PROMINENT LEADERS OF ISLAMIC ORGANIZATIONS CLOSE TO THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION, including one of the co-founders of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Omar Ahmad, on charges of material support for the terrorist group Hamas WERE SCUTTLED TO AVOID EMBARRASSING THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION AND TO AVOID INFLAMING THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY. My source cited a March 31, 2010, internal DOJ memo from Assistant Attorney General David Kris to Acting Deputy Attorney General Gary Grindler effectively dropping the prosecution of Ahmad.

When I contacted the Department of Justice National Security Division, public affairs representative Dean Boyd refused to provide me a copy of the memo and declined to comment on the matter. Boyd directed me to submit a FOIA for the information.

But now House Homeland Security Committee chairman REP. PETER KING (R-NY) HAS SENT A LETTER TO ATTORNEY GENERAL ERIC HOLDER INQUIRING ABOUT THE DETAILS OF OUR REPORT. In the letter dated Friday, April 15, King asks for Holder’s reasons for dropping these terror finance prosecutions.

In his letter, he goes beyond my own reporting and states that THE DOJ DECISION WAS MADE:

…OVER THE VEHEMENT AND STATED OBJECTIONS OF SPECIAL AGENTS AND SUPERVISORS OF THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION, AS WELL AS THE PROSECUTORS AT THE U.S. ATTORNEY’S OFFICE IN DALLAS, who had investigated and successfully prosecuted the Holy Land Foundation case….

….That’s right. The excuse they are currently floating to their friends in the establishment media to explain the decision not to prosecute CAIR officials and the other Islamic leaders implicated in the Holy Land Foundation case (all of whom had been named unindicted co-conspirators) is that THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION CHOSE NOT TO PROSECUTE THEM IN 2004 AND THEY WERE JUST REAFFIRMING WHAT JOHN ASHCROFT HAD DECIDED WAY BACK WHEN.

http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/obama-empire-strikes-back/

So once again, “It’s Bush’s fault.” For all the things Bush did wrong that the Democrats ran against during the last presidential election cycle, this administration seems to have kept most of them.

Where’s the service in public service?

Instead of government employees serving the public, it’s clear now their belief is that the public exists to serve them. And IF THE PUBLIC DOESN’T STEP UP, THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY.

Why else would a government union president threaten to “weaponize” the jobs of his members? At the latest union protest in Lansing, Michigan, AFSCME president HERB SANDERS EXPLAINED TO THE LANSING STATE JOURNAL:

“IF NECESSARY, WE WILL USE THE VALUABLE PUBLIC SERVICE JOBS THAT WE PERFORM AS A WEAPON AND SHUT THIS STATE DOWN.”

http://biggovernment.com/kolson/2011/04/18/afscme-union-threatens-to-weaponize-government-jobs/

Before they try this they might want to talk to some of the former Air Traffic Controllers who were fired in the 1980s.

Obama’s birth certificate: Is he hiding something?

With Donald Trump's headline-grabbing call for our President to release his birth certificate, more and more people are discussing the circumstances of Obama's birth. ALTHOUGH IT SEEMS LIKELY THAT OBAMA IS HIDING SOMETHING -- THE DATE OF BIRTH, THE PLACE, THE FATHER -- IT IS HIGHLY UNLIKELY THAT HE IS CONCEALING A KENYAN NATIVITY.

The President's mother, Ann Dunham and father, Barack Obama, Sr., supposedly met in a Russian language class at the University of Hawaii. The time was late September, 1960. For the official birth date of August 4, 1961 to work, and assuming that Ann carried her baby for a full term, she would have to have been impregnated sometime in mid November, 1960….

http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/04/why_obama_was_not_born_in_keny.html

There’s not much chance that Obama was born in Kenya. I agree with that. However I also agree with the author when he said, “it seems likely that Obama is hiding something…”

TEA Party books

TODAY HARPERCOLLINS’S CONSERVATIVE IMPRINT, BROADSIDE BOOKS, LAUNCHES A SERIES OF E-BOOKS WRITTEN BY AND IN THE SPIRIT OF THE TEA PARTY MOVEMENT. “VOICES OF THE TEA PARTY” includes First Do No Harm: The President’s Cousin Explains Why His Hippocratic Oath Requires Him to Oppose ObamaCare, by Milton Wolf; Community Organizing for Conservatives: A Manifesto for Localism in the Tea Party Movement, by Lorie Medina; and The Battle for Virginia’s 5th District: How the Ancestral Spirit of Patrick Henry Inspired Me to Join the Tea Party, by Mark Kevin Lloyd, all pamphlet-length. The series also has an interactive website and invitation to Tea Party activists: Submit your 5,000-7,000-word essay and yours, too, may be published by HarperCollins.

There will be more “Voices” in six weeks, and another series, “Voices of the Hollywood Right,” too, to come.

http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/265081/tea-party-takes-publishing-harpercollins-gets-broadsided-kathryn-jean-lopez

As the left tries to castigate the TEA Party, their influence can be seen in the discussion about the debt. They were demonstrating about it two years ago.

A Little Bit More on the Ryan Plan

In his anti-Paul Ryan speech last week, President Obama accused the congressman of seeking to make “kids with disabilities. . . . fend for themselves.” WHAT’S THE THEORY HERE? THAT PEOPLE ARE SO SYMPATHETIC TO DISABLED KIDS THAT USING THEM TO ATTACK THE PLAN WILL CHANGE PUBLIC OPINION, BUT SO UNSYMPATHETIC THAT THEY’LL BE THE FIRST ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK when state governments make Medicaid-budgeting decisions?

….As Michael Crowley notes, liberals have rational grounds to reject the Ryan plan. Of course they prefer an alternative with more taxes and more spending. But WE’RE STILL, MOSTLY, IN THE CHEAP-SHOT AND WEAK-LOGIC STAGE OF THIS DEBATE.
http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/265071/little-bit-more-ryan-plan-ramesh-ponnuru

Despite the cheap-shot and weak logic stage of the debate, at least we are having the debate in no small part due to the TEA Party

Can we believe anything Obama says for the next 19 months?

Barack Obama in Annandale VA. “REMEMBER WHEN THAT BRIDGE IN MINNESOTA COLLAPSED WITH ALL THOSE PEOPLE ON IT? And there was a big hue and cry, “How can this happen in America?” Well, the National Society of Engineers — they looked around and THEY GIVE US A D WHEN IT COMES TO INFRASTRUCTURE.”

THE BRIDGE COLLAPSE OCCURRED BECAUSE OF A DESIGN DEFECT, A CONCLUSION REACHED BY THE NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION SAFETY BOARD. The bridge was designed and built in an era when engineers thought that redundant systems were both unnecessary and inefficient. Gusset plates installed at the time of the bridge’s building were too thin, and without any redundancy to account for a major failure on a single point, IT WAS A TRAGEDY WAITING TO HAPPEN FROM DAY 1. It had nothing to do with any lack of maintenance, AND IN FACT COLLAPSED BECAUSE OF SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE TO THE DECK THAT INADVERTENTLY DESTABILIZED IT TO THE POINT OF COLLAPSE.

It’s dishonest in the extreme to use this tragedy as an argument that we neglected our infrastructure, and ghoulish to use the dead for a false political point. OBAMA SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HIMSELF
.

It’s the silly season.

The Libyan intervention is not wholly legal

That’s my argument in a new article for The Daily Caller. As I’ve previously explained, I strongly support the use of force against the Gaddafi tyranny. Indeed, I wish that President Obama were not so half-hearted in taking action to remove Gaddafi. However, THE WAR AGAINST THE LIBYAN DICTATOR STILL NEEDS TO BE VOTED ON BY CONGRESS, just as President Jefferson asked Congress for permission regarding the First Barbary War.

http://dailycaller.com/2011/04/18/the-libyan-intervention-is-not-wholly-legal/

The left moans that Bush lied to get congress to go along with his Iraq War, yet this administration doesn’t seem to even take the time or trouble to get congress to go along as the Constitution requires.

CNN Poll: Support for increased offshore oil drilling on rise

One year after the disastrous oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, SUPPORT FOR OFFSHORE OIL DRILLING HAS REBOUNDED DESPITE CONCERNS THAT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CANNOT PREVENT ANOTHER MASSIVE OIL SPILL, according to a new national poll.

A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Tuesday indicates that 69 PERCENT OF AMERICANS FAVOR INCREASED OFFSHORE DRILLING, WITH JUST OVER THREE IN TEN OPPOSED. That 69 percent is up 20 points from last June, while the oil spill was still in progress, and is back to the level of support seen in the summer of 2008.
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/04/19/cnn-poll-support-for-increased-offshore-oil-drilling-on-rise/

Since we aren’t drilling, we must be suffering from the tyranny of the minority.

Disclosure Delayed Is Justice Denied

The judge who threw out Prop 8 should have been disqualified.

Two weeks ago, former federal district judge VAUGHN WALKER, WHO RULED LAST SUMMER IN PERRY V. SCHWARZENEGGER THAT CALIFORNIA’S PROPOSITION 8 IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL, PUBLICLY DISCLOSED FOR THE FIRST TIME THAT HE HAS BEEN IN A SAME-SEX RELATIONSHIP FOR THE PAST TEN YEARS. A straightforward application of the judicial ethics rules compels the conclusion that Walker should have recused himself from taking part in the Perry case. Further, under well-established Supreme Court precedent, the remedy of vacating Walker’s judgment is timely and necessary.

Let’s begin with the relevant facts that bear on the recusal question….

Obama’s approval among Hispanic at all time low

In the week of April 11-17, Gallup reported, ONLY 47 PERCENT OF HISPANICS SAID THEY APPROVED OF THE JOB OBAMA WAS DOING AS PRESIDENT.

This was only the third week during Obama’s presidency that his job approval among his Hispanics has been lower than 50 percent. The previous two occasions were Sept. 20-26, 2010, when Obama’s approval dropped to 49 percent among Hispanics, and the week of July 26-Aug.1, 2010, when it dropped to 48 percent.

OBAMA’S APPROVAL AMONG HISPANICS PEAKED AT 85 PERCENT--a level it attained in the week of April 20-26, 2009 and again in the week of May 11-17, 2009.

Obama can’t afford to lose the Hispanic vote. He’ll need them big time in 2012.

Glass-Like Solar Cells Set Stage for Power-Producing Windows

…Add this to the growing list of promising innovations in solar energy: PHOTOVOLTAIC CELLS THAT CAPTURE ENERGY FROM SUNLIGHT BUT WITHOUT CHANGING THE WAY SUNLIGHT APPEARS TO THE NAKED HUMAN EYE. The kicker: you can paint these virtually invisible cells on everyday window panes used in everyday homes and everyday buildings..

Coated onto a pane of standard window glass, a potentially revolutionary photovoltaic technology DEVELOPED BY RESEARCHERS AT THE MASSACHUSETTS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY uses organic molecules to capture the energy of infrared light without blocking the flow of light. The technology may one day turn everyday wind panes into a source of electric power. More importantly, IT MAY BE CHEAP ENOUGH FOR PEOPLE TO ACTUALLY USE THESE POWER-PRODUCING WINDOWS.

http://blogs.forbes.com/williampentland/2011/04/16/glass-like-solar-cells-set-stage-for-power-producing-windows/

I’m a big fan of research and development on solar. This looks very interesting.

Dark side of the left

Overview

As the clash in Wisconsin continues we are seeing more and more of THE DARK SIDE OF THE LEFT. The legally elected Democrat Senators from Wisconsin have fled the state and continue to hold out somewhere in Illinois. Every time a Fox News Reporter tries to report from Madison, the teachers, firefighters, and other protester start chanting Fox lies. We are getting more and more lies from the unions there and the leftist media covering the story about there not really being a financial crisis or that Governor Walker has caused it.

What has become apparent is that THE LEFT HAS VERY LITTLE USE FOR DEMOCRACY WHEN THEY LOSE. Freedom of the Press is apparently optional, majority rule is only good if it follows left wing desires, and almost any tactic is okay if it is designed to flummox the right.

Progressivism Unmasked

PUBLIC SECTOR WORKERS HAVE WILLINGLY ABANDONED THE JOBS THEY’RE PAID TO DO. Unscrupulous doctors have written notes filled with lies to protect them. The mainstream media has referred to runaway, anarchist legislators as heros, and deliberately ignored the same hate-filled rhetoric directed at Republicans they declared unseemly and dangerous after the shooting of Gabrielle Giffords. Rhetoric that reached a low point on Wednesday, when Rep. Michael Capuano (D-Mass.) told a group of union supporters that “[E]very once in awhile you need to get out on the streets and get a little bloody when necessary.”

Really, Mr. Capuano? DOING BATTLE WITH WHOM, THE TAXPAYERS WHO UNDERWRITE UNION WAGES AND BENEFITS? Shame on you.

None of it is flying. It’s not flying because most AMERICANS ARE FINALLY BEGINNING TO UNDERSTAND THE UNHOLY RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE DEMOCRAT PARTY AND THEIR UNION BENEFACTORS. Benefactors who contribute well over ninety percent of their campaign contributions—funded almost exclusively by mandatory dues required of union members—to Democrats.

How unholy is this relationship? Perhaps nothing speaks to it better than a unionized New York school system in which “PASSING” A 2009 THIRD GRADE MATH TEST CONSTITUTED GETTING 11 POINTS OUT OF A POSSIBLE 39—WHICH IS A SCORE OF 28%. Was anyone fired for such child-abusing, blatant corruption? Quite the contrary. NEW YORK CITY PAID $100 MILLION IN BONUSES TO TEACHERS AND ADMINISTRATORS FOR THEIR FINE WORK IN “RAISING” TEST SCORES. The kids? 75% of them need remedial instruction if they choose to attend college.
http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/33794

There is no progress for progressivism.

Bogus statistic from Wisconsin union backers spreads in media despite being debunked

“A lie can make it half way around the world before the truth has time to put its boots on” – like a false statistic recently disseminated by supporters of Wisconsin’s government-employee unions. Despite being debunked by PolitiFact, it has since been widely repeated in multiple letters to the editor, and it remains uncorrected on the web sites of publications like The Economist.

On Wednesday, PolitiFact debunked the claim by Wisconsin union supporters that Virginia, which bans collective bargaining in state agencies, ranks 44th in the nation in ACT/SAT scores, compared to Wisconsin ranking 2nd. For example, it noted that in 2009, Virginia ranked 22nd in ACT scores, while Wisconsin ranked 13th. As PolitiFact notes, this claim was originally disseminated by the Wisconsin Democratic Party, which has now retracted it.

(Although PolitiFact didn’t note this, in 2010, Virginia actually beat Wisconsin in ACT scores, with Virginia ranked 12th and Wisconsin ranked 17th. Unlike Wisconsin, Virginia is a right-to-work state that bars forcing employees to pay union dues. Collective bargaining with government employee unions is currently mandated in Wisconsin, but banned in Virginia).

http://washingtonexaminer.com/blogs/opinion-zone/2011/02/bogus-statistic-wisconsin-union-backers-spreads-media-despite-being-debun#ixzz1F4dcZAcr

I had seen this claim in a number of chats. Quite frankly it seemed too good to be true if you were a liberal, but that seems to be the kinds of facts the left posts. Things that aren’t true but from their way of thinking should be true.

Walker won’t back down

GOV. SCOTT WALKER REFUSED TO BACK DOWN SUNDAY IN HIS BUDGET SHOWDOWN WITH WISCONSIN’S PUBLIC-EMPLOYEE UNIONS, saying the state is poised at a historic crossroads.

“We’re broke,” said the Republican governor, whose battle with unions in Wisconsin has landed him at the center of a national debate about government spending.

“I do believe that this is our moment in Wisconsin history,” he told NBC‘s “Meet the Press.”

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka, speaking on the same program, said the governor wasn’t interested in solving the state’s fiscal crisis, ACCUSING MR. WALKER INSTEAD OF WANTING TO BREAK THE STATE’S UNIONS.

Mr. Trumka said the tactic is backfiring, and he predicted the public would support union rights in Wisconsin and in the 2012 presidential elections.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/feb/27/walker-unswayed-by-budget-stance-critics/

I do believe we need a violin for all the poor unions that are screaming that Walker is just trying to break the unions. Perhaps he is because many of the unions have tried to break the state.

MSNBC’s O’Donnell Suggests ‘Racist Message’ in RNC Ad Linking Obama to Labor Unions

On Friday’s Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell, msnbc host O’Donnell seemed to channel his predecessor, Keith Olbermann, as HE RIDICULOUSLY SUGGESTED RACISM IN AN RNC AD WHICH ACCUSED PRESIDENT OBAMA OF BEING BEHOLDEN TO ORGANIZED LABOR, a charge often made against Democrats for many years in the past.

But, as he began an interview with guest Jennifer Granholm, former Democratic governor of Michigan, O’Donnell wondered, "DOES THAT SOUND TO YOU LIKE THEY ARE TRYING TO CONSCIOUSLY OR SUBCONSCIOUSLY DELIVER THE RACIST MESSAGE THAT, OF COURSE, OF COURSE A BLACK MAN CAN’T BE THE REAL BOSS?"

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/brad-wilmouth/2011/02/25/msnbc-s-o-donnell-suggests-racist-message-rnc-ad-linking-obama-labor-#ixzz1F9aVL9a8

Liberals at times are so entirely predictable. They tend to be so lazy as to resort to name calling instead of mounting an actual intellectual argument for their beliefs or to support their actions. This is just another example of that.

Another fatal blow coming for Obamacare?

Politico today looks at the possibility that federal District Judge Roger Vinson, who struck down Obamacare as unconstitutional, COULD GIVE THE 26 STATES IN THE LAWSUIT A FREE PASS TO STOP IMPLEMENTING OBAMACARE:

The Justice Department asked Vinson to clarify his ruling that struck down the law as unconstitutional. Justice must file its brief on the motion by Monday, AND VINSON HAS SAID HE WOULD RULE QUICKLY AFTER THAT. At issue is whether Vinson meant to stop reform implementation in the 26 states that brought the suit.

The smart money says Vinson will halt implementation, and legal observers are wondering why Justice would take that risk.

“Having lost one game of chicken when it came to the severability of the mandate, the government is now challenging the same judge to back down on whether his decision is binding. Seems like a risky move,” said Randy Barnett, a law professor at Georgetown University.

http://washingtonexaminer.com/blogs/beltway-confidential/2011/02/another-fatal-blow-coming-obamacare#ixzz1FDjjq1Ka

Hmmm, let’s see. Obama has decided not to defend DOMA because he thinks the law is unconstitutional. Now Obamacare has been declared Unconstitutional and he is still fighting to keep it going. Does anyone see a bit of hypocrisy here?

Obama Administration Nixes Drilling

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar was in Houston this weekend talking with oil executives who are eager to start drilling again in the Gulf of Mexico. That may sound like progress, but AFTER THE MEETING SALAZAR SAID THAT NOTHING HAD CHANGED. HE WAS NOT READY TO APPROVE ANY NEW DRILLING.

Despite everything that energy companies have done to devise advanced containment systems, Salazar is unwilling to issue a single new permit. Systems constructed by the nonprofit Marine Well Containment Company and other entities are now able to handle a flow equal or greater than that experienced during the Deepwater Horizon accident last summer. But that's not enough for Salazar, who stated that EVEN THE MOST ADVANCED SYSTEMS HAVE "LIMITATIONS ON WATER DEPTH AND BARREL-PER-DAY CONTAINMENT CAPACITY."

http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/02/obama_nixes_safe_drilling.html

When you are paying $100 to fill up your gas tank, remember it is for your own good. And if you used to work in the oil industry remember that this administration is working night and day to get people back to work.

Take a look at history

TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT THIS FACE: IT HASN'T BEEN SEEN IN OVER FIVE MILLENNIA.

In the year 3289 BC, Otzi trekked up the Schnalstal glacier in the Italian Alps. The Neolithic guy -- dubbed Otzi the Iceman, or "Frozen Fritz" -- wore a coat and leggings made of sheep's fur and moccasins made of cattle leather as he climbed, having just polished off his last meal: unleavened bread and meat.

Severely wounded by an arrow and possibly dispatched with a blow to the head by a cudgel, he died, HIS BODY FROZE AND WAS MUMMIFIED, and he lay in place for a very, very long time
.

I found it interesting. Hope you do too.
