Awlaki killed

Islamist cleric Anwar Awlaki 'killed in Yemen'

US-BORN RADICAL ISLAMIST CLERIC AND SUSPECTED AL-QAEDA LEADER ANWAR AL-AWLAKI HAS BEEN KILLED IN YEMEN, THE COUNTRY'S DEFENCE MINISTRY REPORTED.

Unnamed US administration officials confirmed the reports.

Awlaki, of Yemeni descent, has been on the run in Yemen since December 2007.

The US had named him a "specially designated global terrorist" for his alleged role in a number of attacks and US President Barack Obama is said to have personally ordered his killing.

The defence ministry statement said only that he died "along with some of his companions".

It gave no further details of his death….

Actually the one place Obama has been somewhat successful is in killing terrorist.  If make you wonder what all the civil libertarians calling for trying Bush as a war criminal for waterboarding three terrorists think.  I guess waterboarding them is wrong, but killing them is okay.

Obama charges that America has gone a little soft.

…In 2008, we elected a man who promised us “a net spending cut,” a guy who would go “line by line” through the budget with steely eyes under his green eyeshade and trim Washington down to the bone. WE ELECTED — WE THOUGHT WE ELECTED — A TOUGH MAN TO DO A TOUGH JOB. Who is soft, Mr. President, the electorate who went crazy for the tough guy, or THE PRESIDENT WHO BROKE HIS PROMISES WHILE REFUSING TO MAKE A SINGLE TOUGH DECISION ABOUT SPENDING?

I saw the rise of a new political movement, a new Tea Party. This Tea Party didn’t throw fits. The rest of American didn’t have to endure tantrums as they went out on the streets, Greek-style, to demand more and more largess. No. They assembled peacefully, quietly, and asked you to do less to try and “help” them. That doesn’t seem soft to me, Mr. President.

That campaign promise seems almost surreal in the event of what actually has transpired.  I can see the political commercial where you see Obama saying that and you have the words $1.6 trillion dollar deficits appear on the screen.

Campaigning Philadelphia judges say Democrats sought $10,000 donations

THE CITY'S DEMOCRATIC PARTY ORGANIZATION INVITED 27 PHILADELPHIA JUDGES TO A BUFFET BREAKFAST THIS WEEK AND ASKED THEM TO PAY $10,000 EACH TO ASSURE PARTY SUPPORT WHEN THEY FACE YES-OR-NO RETENTION VOTES IN NOVEMBER, ACCORDING TO JUDGES WHO ATTENDED.

The figure is double what the party asked from sitting judges two years ago.

And the request was reportedly delivered with a warning from the party treasurer, former State Rep. Frank Oliver, that DEMOCRATIC WARD LEADERS WOULD "CUT" - WITHHOLD SUPPORT FROM - JUDGES WHO FAILED TO PAY, ACCORDING TO SEVERAL WITNESSES.

Interesting.  If anyone else demanded $10,000 from judges, they would most likely end up in jail.

Centrist are abandoning Ship

Here’s an interesting piece by Jonah Goldberg laying waste to the concept that the MSM is centrist.  Since the country is slightly right of center, for the MSM to be centrist is would need to be in the vicinity of the right.  Remembering back to 2008 and how some media talked about tingles up their leg and how Obama was almost a God, but at least a new FDR, we had “Tina Brown, editor of both the Daily Beast and Newsweek, recently let it slip on MSNBC (a trifecta of establishmentarian liberal media outlets!) that SHE THINKS OBAMA “WASN’T READY” FOR THE JOB IN 2008.”  Centrist?  I don’t think so.
