Story #1 has the Obama Administration having the biggest monthly deficit in history. #2 looks at the Breitbart vetting of Obama phase 1. #3 shows you why you can see that Obama is a Marxist. #4 looks at what Obama’s strategy seems to be. #5 shows us that the Tea Party is still alive.
1. A New Obama Record
For a global economy that is "improving" we sure are getting a whole lot of records in the wrong direction in the last two days. Yesterday it was Japan which printed a record current account deficit (yes, the most indebted country in the world was once upon a time supposed to export its way out of debt). Today, we learn that in February the US will report its largest budget deficit in history, as the Keynesian floodgates open full bore, and as Zero Hedge has noted repeatedly, tax revenues just refuse to come in at anything close to the pace of accelerated spending, forcing the US to borrow 54 cents for every dollar it spends (not the often cited 42 cent number which does not take into account tax refunds - see here). We would comment more on this, but frankly the chart speaks for itself. And now that the US has to fund an additional $100 billion due to the taxcut extension this means that things are only going to get worse, fast.
These are not the kind of records you want to set, but they seem to be the only one you can with this Administration.
2. Breitbart starts Obama’s vetting
The first of the posthumous Breitbart tapes debuted last night on Hannity, and today on Breitbart.com. You can tell the left is concerned by the fact that:
1. Journ-O-lister Ben Smith, now running Buzzfeed, pre-empted the debut by licensing the same tape from WGBH TV in Boston, and running it, minus a couple of shots, and then rushed to dismiss its significance.
2. There has been a rush to conclude that this is much ado about nothing, despite the fact that many more tapes are in prospect.
The gist of the tapes is that in 1991, when he was president of the Harvard Law Review, 30 year old Obama spoke in front of a rally of his admiration for radical professor Derrick Bell, and hugged him in front of the crowd and said: "Open up your hearts and your minds to the words of Professor Derrick Bell."…
…There is more to come. The predicate has been laid.
Update: J. Christian Adams of PJ Media points to another tape showing black students occupying a Dean's office as part of the same effort to force tenure for a black professor who didn't earn it. One of the students seen occupying the office looks a lot like Michelle Obama. Adams writes that he has seen this tape on Betamax at higher resolution, and that there is little doubt Michelle is one of the occupiers.
The press will attempt to dismiss each of the stories, but when taken as a whole, you will see a radical leftist who masqueraded as a moderate in 2008. It should give people pause what Obama would do in a second term.
It’s been four years and the mainstream media still refuses to address the fact that Barack Obama is a Marxist. In fact using that word gets you branded as a crazy (guilty but not on this issue) and someone who uses divisive "tone.
Some who brand Obama Marxist use as their evidence his policies such as the takeover of the domestic auto business, Obamacare, "redistribution of income" etc. Others examine his associations, from Frank Marshall Davis and Bill Ayers to people he hired such as Van Jones and Rev. Jim Wallis. While valid, the examples above are purely circumstantial.
I use a simpler and more direct method of proving my case. When the President was running for the Illinois State Senate, not only did he run with the endorsement of a local socialist organization, but also he signed a contract with one of them, The New Party. The party was a Marxist Political coalition. This was not guilt by association thing. Senator Obama sought out their nomination. He was successful in obtaining that endorsement which required that he sign a contract with the group.
By 1996, Obama had become a member of the New Party. Who says so? Well the Chicago Democratic Socialist Party and the New Party Said so, at least back then they did:…
… New Ground 42 (New Ground is the Official Newsletter of the Chicago Democratic Socialist Party) September October 1995. Obama signed a contract promising an visible and open relationship with the Marxist New Party…
Pretty convincing evidence.
4. Obama’s Shameless Campaign
…Obama may be leading his Republican contenders in head-to-head matchups. But the campaign will not truly begin until after the party conventions in September, which gives the GOP nominee time to recover. Obama’s approval rating is stuck below 50 percent, according to the Real Clear Politics polling average. His approval rating has been underwater in Gallup tracking since May of 2011. This is dangerous for an incumbent during the spring of a reelection year. And Obama’s approval rating in swing states is even worse. Last week’s USA Today / Gallup poll had him losing to both Romney and Santorum in the most competitive states.
Nor are the headlines likely to improve. Gas prices keep ticking up. The Iranian nuclear program continues to go forward. The Greek economy continues to go backward.
Since he lacks a significant and popular domestic achievement, the president seems to have concluded that the way to a second term is through the mobilization of key constituencies rather than a broad-based appeal to middle America. He combines these appeals with cheap gimmicks to generate publicity and deflect attention from the Republican primary. Now that his job is in trouble, the man who enthralled millions during the campaign of 2008 has been reduced to just another transactional political panderer. The gloss is off. Even the liberal Washington Post writer Dana Milbank says White House hiring practices make “a joke of the spirit of reform he promised.”…
Expect more birth control controversies drummed up by the Obama campaign. He can’t run on his record, so he has to go to other subjects.
5. Tea Party is still alive
The Tea Party is alive and kicking. House Speaker John Boehner can’t help but notice that Representative Jean Schmidt, one of his fellow GOP House members from the Cincinnati area, just went down to defeat at the hands of a political neophyte. Brad Wenstrup is a physician and Iraq War veteran whose only prior political experience was in a losing race for mayor of Cincinnati.
Jean Schmidt had a conservative social and economic voting record in her seven years in Congress, winning “zero” ratings from liberal groups and an 88 percent rating from the National Taxpayers Union in 2010. But she had vulnerabilities, including votes to raise the debt ceiling and for the Wall Street bailout, support for the pro-union Davis-Bacon Act, and a record of supporting tax increases when she was in the state legislature. She was also dogged by accusations she had accepted free legal help from a Turkish-American interest group, although she was cleared of wrongdoing by the House Ethics Committee. But the real mark against her was that she was a Washington incumbent….

The leftwing MSM has been feeding us a diet of the Tea Party is dead stories, but it appears these are like the Obama is a shoe-in for reelection appear to be a projection of what they want to believe rather than actual facts.
