Liberals! Ready, Aim....

What’s new today

Our # 1 story is an interesting look at Barack Obama and how he has reestablished the liberal stereotype that Bill Clinton worked so hard to reverse. #2 demonstrates a pitiful media stereotype instituted by Bill Press.  #3 has James O’Keefe looking at the media and how they claim impartiality but practice something entirely different.  #4 is a history of another Occupy movement that happened about 40 years ago.  #5 has Tom Colburn breaking any stereotypes you might have about Republicans.  #6 relays that the Obama administration is turning to Bill Clinton for advice on his reelection campaign.  Finally #7 has some great pictures of the Victoria Secret models and their annual fashion show.

1.  The Liberal Stereotype strikes again

FIRST AND FOREMOST HAS BEEN THE LIBERAL BIG SPENDER. Obama began his tenure with a massive $800 billion “stimulus” bill consisting largely of payoffs to traditional Democratic constituencies and investments in assorted pet projects of the left. It was a model of pork and inefficiency, and a sign of things to come. In the subsequent three years, the large national debt Obama inherited has roughly doubled in size, domestic discretionary spending has increased by 25 percent (even without counting the stimulus), and we have experienced the three largest annual deficits in American history. Even this year, as the president has been dragged kicking and screaming into deficit-reduction negotiations with congressional Republicans, he proposed a budget that would further increase the deficit and debt.

Much of this spending has been advertised as intended to spur the flagging economy, and on this front we have seen the reappearance of A SECOND LIBERAL TYPE: THE INCOMPETENT ECONOMIST. Courtesy of Jimmy Carter in particular, liberals came to be identified with an economics of stagnation and decline. Bill Clinton did a lot to eradicate that impression, but Barack Obama has revived it. Since Obama took office, unemployment has averaged 9.3 percent, and economic growth has been anemic despite enormous measures intended to improve both. …

…Yet even amid such dismal public trust in the state, we have seen the reemergence of the LIBERAL TECHNOCRATIC MICROMANAGER—A THIRD OLD LIBERAL TYPE. An explosion of regulatory discretion and the birth of several large new public programs have revealed an extraordinary faith in bureaucratic administration among today’s Democrats. It is of course most powerfully evident in Obamacare, with its vast array of interlocking rules and programs overseen by an army of waiver-granting clerks, and its board of 15 philosopher-accountants setting prices. The best and brightest of the Kennedy and Johnson eras could not have dreamed of being trusted with such powers, let alone with a trillion dollars to spend.

But that spending should not worry us, we are told, because yet another liberal type is on the scene to see that it’s covered: THE BIG TAXER, who is never far behind the big spender. The tax burden imposed by Obamacare alone comes to roughly $770 billion over ten years, but that is just the beginning. There was a time when Democrats ran away from the mantle of the party of tax increases, but by this past summer the administration and congressional Democrats had put higher taxes at the top of their list of fiscal priorities. They now insist quite openly that no further budget deals will be possible if taxes are not raised….

The article begins talking about how Obama was worried that his comments about the middle of the country clinging to their guns and religion would revive old liberal clichés.  He remarked that Bill Clinton had done much to dispel these stereotypes.  What we see here is that Obama has done his best to reinforce them.

2.   And speaking of stereotypes

It is campaign season, and no matter how serious any other non-political story may be in the meantime, there is no such thing as a news item unable to be tied to the presidential election. So when the Penn State child rape scandal broke, it was inevitable someone would drag it into the Republican race– this time, IT WAS BILL PRESS, WHO ARGUED THERE WAS “NO DIFFERENCE” BETWEEN HERMAN CAIN‘S SEXUAL HARASSMENT ALLEGATIONS AND COACH JERRY SANDUSKY ALLEGEDLY BEING CAUGHT SODOMIZING A TEN-YEAR-OLD BOY IN A LOCKER ROOM.

“I wonder what Herman Cain’s supporters say about what happens in Penn State,” Press said on his program Friday, suggesting that Republicans who don’t believe the accusations against Cain are defending him “because he happens to be a conservative politician Republican running for president.” “YOU CAN’T TOUCH HIM, BUT THE MEDIA CAN GO AFTER SANDUSKY… WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE? THERE’S NO DIFFERENCE, REALLY…

What’s really amazing is that Bill Press is stupid enough to say something like this and still be in the Media.

3.  Project Veritas’ new target:  The Media

The myth of journalistic objectivity is the subject of James O'Keefe's latest video project -- and the You Tube clip he has produced is as amusing as earlier efforts that brought down ACORN and top NPR executives.

"SHOULD JOURNALISTS DISCLOSE THEIR JOURNALISTIC BIASES?" That's the question posed by O'Keefe's video released via YouTube and part of an ongoing series under his ProjectVeritas.com. Amusingly, THE CLIP REVELS THAT LIBERAL MEMBERS OF THE FOURTH ESTATE HATE HAVING TAPE RECORDERS AND VIDEO CAMERAS TURNED ON THEMSELVES WITH THE AIM OF HOLDING THEM ACCOUNTABLE TO THE ETHICAL STANDARDS THEY CLAIM TO UPHOLD and that -- let's face it -- were unrealistic standards to begin with.

The departure point for O'Keefe's video released on Thursday is a journalism conference where one of O'Keefe's associates poses as a cub reporter. With a hidden camera rolling, O'Keefe's operative engages a 2011 Pulitzer Prize winner at the New Jersey's Star-Ledger, Amy Ellis Nutt, in what the reporter and adjunct professor at Columbia University's journalism school thinks is innocent shop talk.

Nutt, however, is caught on video tape agreeing with the need to reelect President Obama and CALLS REPUBLICAN GOV. CHRISTOPHER JAMES "CHRIS" CHRISTIE AN "ASSHOLE" AND "LIAR." SHE COVERED HIS 2009 ELECTION….

An interesting You Tube Video if you want to see hypocrisy on display.

4.   Occupy:  The Original Movement

HISTORY NEVER REPEATS ITSELF EXACTLY, but these aren't the first occupations our nation has experienced.

At 2 a.m. on Nov. 20, 1969, a group of 80 American Indians, led by San Francisco State student Richard Oakes, LANDED ON ALCATRAZ ISLAND AND DECLARED IT THEIR OWN…

THE ALCATRAZ OCCUPIERS RECEIVED GLOWING COVERAGE FROM THE PRESS, AND HOLLYWOOD CELEBRITIES SHOWERED THEM WITH LOVE. Jane Fonda, Marlon Brando and Dick Gregory all visited the island to show their support.

Creedence Clearwater Revival performed a concert for the occupiers and donated $15,000 for a boat to ferry supplies. BY THANKSGIVING 1969, 400 PEOPLE WERE LIVING ON THE ISLAND.

Like with Occupy Wall Street, the Alcatraz occupiers wanted to form a new society where everyone had an equal voice. GENERAL MEETINGS WERE HELD EVERY DAY, AND EVERY RESIDENT HAD AN EQUAL VOTE.

Non-Native Americans were also allowed to stay on the island, and many people who were drawn to the Haight-Ashbury scene also made their way to the island. UNFORTUNATELY, MANY OF THESE PEOPLE ALSO BROUGHT DRUGS AND ALCOHOL WITH THEM. The nature of the occupation began to change.

MORE HOMELESS MADE THEIR WAY TO THE ISLAND, and many of the original occupiers went back to school or jobs. On Jan. 3, 1970, Oakes' stepdaughter Yvonne fell to her death from a third-story balcony in the warden's residence. Oakes left the island in despair.

IN MAY 1970, THE GSA CUT ALL POWER TO THE ISLAND AND REMOVED THE FRESH-WATER BARGE. In June 1970, a fire destroyed the warden's residence, doctor's quarters and part of the lighthouse.

Occupiers blamed outsiders, but THE MEDIA FINALLY BEGAN TO TURN ON THE ENCAMPMENT. STORIES OF BEATINGS AND ASSAULTS BEGAN APPEARING IN LOCAL PAPERS. FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS DRIED UP, AND THE NUMBER OF OCCUPIERS CONTINUED TO DWINDLE.

OCCUPY ALCATRAZ ENDED WITH A WHIMPER when U.S. marshals returned to the island in June 1971. Only 15 people -- six men, four women and five children -- remained. None was arrested.

Forty years later, Oakland City Councilwoman and former Occupy Oakland camper Desley Brooks told the San Francisco Chronicle:

"This is not the original crowd, not the one that was about the principles of Occupy Wall Street. What we have now is a mix: homeless, anarchists, gang members, and maybe a handful left who are really about Occupy."

Maybe history does repeat itself exactly.

Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.  It appears the OWS movement is heading down the same path.  The Occupation of Alcatraz lasted approximately 7 months.  Let’s see how long OWS lasts.

5.Sen. Tom Coburn releases report on government subsidies to millionaires

…Last month, he won support from the Senate TO END ANNUAL FARM SUBSIDIES CALLED “DIRECT PAYMENTS” TO THOSE WITH ADJUSTED GROSS INCOMES OVER $1 MILLION. He has won passage of an amendment to prohibit unemployment benefits to millionaires.

According to his new report millionaires received:

_ $9 BILLION IN SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENTS BETWEEN 2004 AND 2009;

_ $74 MILLION IN UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS BETWEEN 2005 AND 2009:

_ $316 MILLION IN FARM PROGRAM PAYMENTS BETWEEN 2003 AND 2009:

_ $89 million in conservation program payments in 2009 and 2010; and

_ $7.5 million in disaster housing payments between 2007 and 2010.

Since 2006, millionaires have claimed nearly $114 billion in tax deductions and credits, with about $100 billion of that for rental expenses and home mortgage deductions.

Because of the various deductions and credits, ABOUT 1,500 MILLIONAIRES PAID NO FEDERAL INCOME TAX IN 2009, THE REPORT SAYS.

“Fleecing the taxpayer while contributing nothing is not the American way,'' Coburn said.

Coburn is not calling for an end to Social Security retirement payments to millionaires, since they pay into the system. But he says THE PAYMENTS SHOULD BE “RESTRAINED.” On Medicare, Coburn is recommending that those with adjusted gross incomes of $1 million or more pay the full cost of their premiums for Part B insurance _ which covers physician visits and out-patient services _ and Part D _ which covers prescription drugs.

Tom Coburn is a Republican from Oklahoma.  He’s the author of a plan to cut $9 trillion from the Federal Budget over the next 10 years.  As such a lot of people are gunning for him as he us gutting everyone’s sacred cow.

6.  How the tables have turned.

One year out from the election the OBAMA TEAM IS APPARENTLY WORRIED ENOUGH ABOUT THEIR CHANCES AT REELECTION THAT THE PRESIDENT'S TOP ADVISORS SECRETLY MET WITH FORMER PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON IN HARLEM LAST WEEK TO SEEK OUT HIS ADVICE.

The two hour-plus meeting, which included chief advisor David Axelrod, resulted in "Clinton peppering the Obama operatives with dozens of probing questions and specific suggestions, not only concerning their strategy and message but HOW TO HANDLE THE LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES, TOO. ECONOMIC CONDITIONS AND HOW TO ADDRESS THEM DOMINATED THE DISCUSSION."…

This is not really surprising.  What would be surprising was if WJC turned him down.  Right now, the ONE, the person who was going to turn back the rise of the oceans, is in deep trouble.

7. Victoria Secret’s Fashion show On CBS November 29

Here are 60 pictures from the event which actually occurred on November 10.  Its fun and the models are gorgeous.
