On Tuesday, THE UT BOOKSTORE PULLED MINTS POKING FUN AT PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA OFF SHELVES AFTER STATE REP. JOE ARMSTRONG, D-KNOXVILLE, TOLD THE DIRECTOR HE WAS OFFENDED BY THE MESSAGE ON THE CANDIES. After a story ran in the News Sentinel on Wednesday, reports of the incident landed in national publications, on blogs, and on radio and television shows.
For the Unemployed Philosophers Guild, the small company in New York that produces the candies, the incident has led to record sales.
"IT'S THE BEST THING THAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED," said Jay Stern, an official at the company. "He made them a hit."
Though it's sold out of the Obama "Disappointmints," THE COMPANY HAS DONE A MOCK-UP OF A TIN CAN IN HONOR OF ARMSTRONG.

… DEMOCRATS OWN THE DOWNGRADE. THEY FOUGHT REPUBLICANS AND TEA PARTY SUPPORTERS EVERY STEP OF THE WAY, AND FORCED A DEAL WHICH WAS INSUFFICIENT. They played class warfare and race politics against arguments that we needed to drastically change our spending habits.

Then around the closing time of 11 p.m., witnesses told the Journal Sentinel, DOZENS TO HUNDREDS OF BLACK YOUTHS ATTACKED WHITE PEOPLE AS THEY LEFT THE FAIR, PUNCHING AND KICKING PEOPLE AND SHAKING AND POUNDING ON THEIR VEHICLES
AT LEAST 31 PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED - many for disorderly conduct - in connection with the incidents on the fairgrounds and on the streets outside. AT LEAST 11 PEOPLE, SEVEN OF THEM POLICE OFFICERS, WERE INJURED, officials said. Twenty-four people were arrested within the fairgrounds by State Fair Police. West Allis police arrested seven people, five of them juveniles, outside the fairgrounds…..

Average Length Of Unemployment Surges To New All Time Record 40.4 Weeks
We already learned that the one biggest red flag in unemployment data had been raised when we found that the LABOR FORCE PARTICIPATION RATE WAS THE LOWEST SINCE 1984. Now we find that the other critical data point: AVERAGE LENGTH OF UNEMPLOYMENT, JUST HIT A NEW ALL TIME HIGH OF 40.4 WEEKS IN JULY, up from the previous record of 39.9 in June. Someone should tell the average American who is rapidly approaching one year in average unemployment that the stock market soared on good payroll news. They will be delighted.

Nader: ‘Almost 100 percent’ chance of a Democratic primary challenger to Obama
Ralph Nader, the consumer advocate and perennial third-party presidential candidate, announced last month that he would work to find a Democrat to challenge President Barack Obama in 2012.
NADER NOW SAYS THAT A PRIMARY CHALLENGE IS A NEAR CERTAINTY.
“What [Obama] did this week is just going to energize that effort,” Nader promised in an interview with The Daily Caller. “I WOULD GUESS THAT THE CHANCES OF THERE BEING A CHALLENGE TO OBAMA IN THE PRIMARY ARE ALMOST 100 PERCENT.”
The only question, he said, is the stature of that opponent and whether it will be either “an ex-senator or an ex-governor” or “an intellectual leader or an environmental leader.”
